Adaptive and Innovative Design Interface Technology(AID-IT)

HIGHLIGHTS

  • This research addresses product development through customization

  • I worked on structural reanalysis of trusses (truss customization) using matrix inverse update algorithms

  • Devised algorithms to update stiffness matrix during reanalysis and capture truss analysis data from FEM

  • Currently developing an interface that provides support for design modification and reanalysis

  • Implementing the idea on various mechanical components like trusses, beams and shafts.

  • Working on algorithms to ensure computational speed and real-time modification.

  • Junior year summer internship continued as undergraduate senior year project

  • Undergraduate senior year project advisor is Prof. Deepak Sharma, IIT Guwahati.

APPROACH

  • We begin with trusses and aim to find forces in each element for a truss designed by the user.

  • The user is allowed to construct a truss, make geometric changes after the construction and change loads.

  • The challenge is to show real time changes in forces of elements with changes in geometry and/or forces by the user after the truss construction.

AIM

To modify a node position and bring it back to the original position to validate whether the initialization through direct method and then reanalysis by matrix inverse update method yields same results.
